Pat Tolle

I paint like I eat August sweet corn,
with my hands and
lots of butter and salt.*

My paintings are a mixture of color and pattern. They involve use of acrylic, collage, stencil, charcoal and whatever comes within reach. My focus is creating 3D depth of pictorial chaos into storytelling.

I am visually documenting my hillside property of 40 years overlooking the Salish Sea and Whidbey Island. My studio is situated on a greenbelt of maples, alders and blackberries. I have a fascination of wild vs cultivated.

Bio

I studied art at Brooks Art Institute. Told to follow my own style I painted in a studio loft above a foreign auto shop on Kauai in the 70’s.

In 2002, I received a commission for a 30’ painting for the University of Washington.

I am found in private and public art collections and am represented by Gunnar Nordstrom, Kirkland, Washington.
